It's really good to see you again Grace. I was thinking of you the other day when we came out to our truck and found a spiked nail in the side of our tire. The tire was three hundred brand new to replace. I remember how you had all your tires slashed. The neighbor only calls if there's someone sitting outside our bushline and it was at night so I will give her a call in the morning. I'd like to think it was a random act of sorts and not that whacko family that were all my false accusers. Hope all is well with you.

Sauloftarsus, say that to someone who lost all their family members, who has lost a loved one and had to watch him die an extrememly slow death while only a child because of no blood tranfusion, who had a pedophile father who was an elder and also molested the handicapped disabled sister in a wheelchair, who was forced to runaway at fifteen and go and live in a van at the autowreckers and hook up with the first guy that came along who also was an abuser, who couldn't talk to their mother because they weren't going to their meetings and promised to call her in three weeks but had to hang up because the cult had taken over her thoughts and you didn't want to say anything you would regret and then the third week rolls around and you get the phone call she had taken her life and your only eighteen and trying to survive.
So years later in life you decide to come back because you want to see your mother and brother and really have the all perfect family in the new system just to find out the whole religion was a hoax. Then you question the bible for that was suppose to be your whole world but weren't really taught it. All you want to do is leave quietly but now the elders go on a witchhunt and find a couple of young stupid kids and their relatives that will be made elders if they just go along with framing us but that's not enough for they have to spread it all around that we are evil.
The fact we thought we were really serving god by selling off our business and working part time at the bethel. Leaveing all our real friends and worldly relatives behind. All in the name of watchtower who almost had me beginning to hate god. The world was to be hated, recreational activities, material things that were normal like a home, you wonder why so much hatred comes out. That's all what some have known and were raised in it so now when they leave the hatred and find out there really is love out there then more hatred piles up due to being lied to and being misled. What's worse is trying to learn all over again on how to live with the rest of the world who were to be pitied because they were evil and were going to die. So frustrating yet I have to be patient with myself and others. It's such a mind screw-up, try not being mad at all of us. It's not easy for most of us. Remember, we are all putting on another new personality but have to get rid of the hateful one we were raised in.
Yes, I agree the profanity is not needed but we really are a hurt bunch and thank someone like Simon who made this forum possible. It's because of this that what I have experienced in my life that helps me to deal with my own anxieties mostly due from this religion. I have met some really interesting people here and who have similar experiences, all the above is what I had to deal with, and sure wished this would have been around when I was younger. And yes I blame what I had to endure on this religion. Think about it. Myself and others were actually born into this cult along with generations before us.
I really am trying to move on from the religion but am now having to deal with the aftermath of what it has done to me mentally, physically ect,,, Learning how well some have done after they have left feels good to read. When someone is going through hell with a jc at the moment they are writing, it's so wonderful to see so many jump on and try and help. We try and dwell on those things and try to overlook and understand what mixed emotions they are going through. This place is a place where I know I can go to feel a little safer knowing I'm not alone and that there truly are ones who understand the emotions that I'm going through. It's quite the rollercoaster ride and add going through the change and other personal problems you have to try and deal with, all at the same time.
When I don't like what I am reading I do what you said to do when it comes to the religion, MOVE ON!!!!! You don't like what some are saying then move on. Go to another thread or forum. If you corner an animal it will automatically lash back. Fight or flight. How one handles the hatred that society spewed on us, another one deals with it differently. And try remembering that alot might be on medication trying to deal with what they have come out of and they are just trying to survive day by day. Everyone is different thank goodness.
If you were raised in this cult then automatically you will leave with alot of that hatred you were indoctrinated in. The hatred you are reading was taught first hand from the ones we have all run away from and that's WB&TS. Sorry for the long post
Thanks for the reminder Simon.

It depends on who they like. In our last hall there was a sister who had shown me two tatoos on her butt and backside. One of them was a quote of a poem from a sympathy card that she recieved when her sister who had passed away. She was showing everyone. The po found out about it and the following week they made her husband an ms and the both of them were put in the drama the following assembly.
Yet, another couple who are inactive got tatoos and the jw family was down their backs. He said it best that if we still kept the law then he could see it being wrong. How you take the bible is the key. If you want to keep the law then Yehovah detests tatoos but if you don't keep the law then do as you please. The society just loves to pick and choose what suites them. There should be no grounds for punishing anyone that gets tatoos if society is going to leave it up to the individuals conscience.

Thoughts After Saturday Morning Service
by lambsbottom inwent out with a good friend in service this morning.
my spouse and kiddos joined us.
me and my spouse are awake jws, have gotten over the initial shock and disgust with some of the lame wt doctrine, and are determined to let god direct us wherever he may (even to another church - i'm going to a baptist service tommorow).. we have fun doing a little bit of service with the kiddos, letting them watch deer, play with sticks, and write not-at-homes down.

Welcome Lambsbottom:)
Bluesbrother I'm with you on that one. Once we woke up and found out the real truth about the truth, we had to stop going. Our conscience wouldn't allow us to go to the doors. Even if we were just using scriptures, the people at the doors would know us as jw's. Never would we want to represent something we desperately loathe. And never would we want to bring someone in to this falsehood "by accident" or pass this deceptive way of life onto the next generation of victims.

Most Ridiculous Thing You've Ever Been Counseled On
by MrFreeze ini'm sure topics like this have already come up but they tend to get hilarious with the absolute absurdity that goes on in the kh.
i was once counseled for not shaving after two days.
i was also counseled by a sister for eating lucky charms cereal.

I was counselled for sliding artificial doggy doodoo on the PO's chair during the prayer. When he turned around he was ticked! Another time we had taped a fart machine with remote control under our bookstudy conducter's chair. Again, we pushed the button right after the prayer and everyone laughed at the conductor while his face was red and fuming. This was at the hall and the whole back row was all df'd and laughing. We thought we would bring some good cheer to that group for it was so depressing and come hall clean there was us and the conducter and his wife. The rest were all df'd and never came to help. And the conductor and his wife were the only ones we would be working with in service and at the study they were the only ones there we could talk to. BORING!

Obviously, the kids father wasn't an elder. I say this because in our old hall pictures came up with two of our elders kids in the nude with a sister painting obsenities all over their bodies. Their two eighteen yearold boys were allowed to go to bethel but later on were kicked out of bethel for gossip travels fast. Plus, another time, these same two boys were caught drunk underaged and nothing was done.
I say great for that family for they have each other and they can move on all at the same time.

We agree! Just reading In Search of Christian Freedom and all I can say is wow! Although we were definitely duped, we can see there really is a way out and a much better place to go. Thank you Ray and Cinthia Franz.

Sad video. There's a young couple( eighteen years old) who came into this religion three years ago. He is now an ms. His wife's mother was at the dentist the same time I was. I introduced myself to her and told her I am not a jw. The next sentence was how bad do you want your daughter and her husband out of this religion. She just broke down and said bad. That her and her husband notice a drastic change in the both of them, that they are more judgementel than ever. We exchanged phone numbers and then I had to go in to see the dentis. Fourty-five minutes later she is still waiting for me and we talked. I told her to sit tight and will be giving her my book of Steve Hassan combatting cult mind control. She said she would talk it over with her husband and that she would read the book. One thing that really annoyed her was last summer, her daughter had their six week old baby out in service and they were out for the whole day. It was 37 celcius and she said that poor kid was in the car all day. She was mad.
Maybe she will see that she is not alone if we show them this video.

Don't Miss the Meetings - Hebrews 10:24, 25 Re-examined
by Oubliette ini recently got an unsolicited lecture from a well-intentioned but nevertheless misguided jw friend.
the gist of it was that i needed to go to all the meetings or i would miss out on "everlasting life.".
i responded that i do not need to go to meetings to have a relationship with god.

Superboy, your answer is yes! If you want to learn doctrine and not the bible then go to your meetings. There are some really good Messianic Hebrew scholars that teach only the bible and the language along with the culture. So far, everyone of them say the same thing, get out of all religion. All religions have a golden calf that their followers have to follow.
These teachers don't ask for money, beleive in the resurrection, no hell, no trinity, believe in only two comings of the Messiah, ect... These are extrememly humble beings that just put it out there and use the scriptures to back up their teachings. And yes we do it in our home or other exjw's homes. We're in a relaxed frame of mind and afterwards we have great association. None of this robotic, miserable, cold, rude association. No false fronthoods. And yes we keep our weekly sabbath from Friday after sundown to Sat after sundown and keep the seven feasts. It really isn't burdensome at all.
What we do with what we learn is up to us. We have that freewill. Unfortunately, what we learn the jw's can't answer therefore call us apostates. And there's no timeslip to fill out.LOL We just follow what the bible commands us to follow and that's it.
